"Life is better on the Sunnyside!"

Sunnyside, on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe just 2.5 miles south of Tahoe City, CA, is the hot spot of the West Shore. Many of my clients target this area for their property searches (or "wish lists") for multiple reasons: the proximity to Tahoe City, the bike path which runs adjacent to hwy 89 south, the Tahoe Park HOA (arguably the nicest private beach property on the California side of Lake Tahoe), Sunnyside restaurant and boat marina, High Sierra Water Ski School is located there, quaint cabins and walk-able neighborhoods, best breakfast joint on the lake (Firesign Cafe-again, we could argue about the "best", but really, just take my word for it and order the Eggs Benedict), and an overall "Tahoe" feeling that is tough to duplicate in other neighborhoods.
Sunnyside is almost always abuzz with action, people walking, runners and bicyclists. The Sunnyside deck is open from late May or early June into the fall, and is a dining experience that all Lake Tahoe visitors should enjoy at least once. You're bound to run into someone you know at Sunnyside, from high school, or maybe even your Kindergarten class, and it's a real hoot when you do.
The homes vary dramatically from old cabins built by Dad and son 60 odd years ago, to stunning remodels or even new builds. The lots are typically small, but most neighbors are very nice. The area has a mix of full time and part time homeowners, and a few rentals. Income properties do very well here, and there are many purchase options for the buyer who is looking for a project! Sunnyside is a special area, with great Tahoe history, and the property values reflect this.
