"Great Up and Coming Area Close to DTLA, tons of parks and all the hipster parts of Los Angeles"

Perhaps Im one of those Hipsters mentioned in the previous posts...haha. But I love Cypress Park!

I moved here about a year ago from the west side, and its been great so far. The only thing I miss is access to the beach. I moved here because its central to everything....the metro, the freeway, the bike path, various parks, DTLA and Silverlake, Echo Park, Highland Park. And its cheaper than all of them.

The vibe here is much more chill than a lot of the areas I just mentioned. Its a very Latino area, so the Mexican and El Salvadorian food is great! The gang issues that its so infamous for, are pretty much a thing of the past. I walk around at night often. In general its not really a "destination" itself....but it seems to sit between everything. As a result, its quieter than...say, Highland Park just up the hill.

The houses here are mostly from the early 1900's...because its one of the oldest areas in LA. They tend to be small craftsman bungalows. Lots of families that have been here for years!

Im a white guy in my 30s.
