"Waukegan - A suburban town with a city feel"

Waukegan is located in northern Lake County Illinois and is known as a midpoint for travelers between Chicago and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It even has it's own regional airport for private and corporate aircraft. The city spans the shores of Lake Michigan and is frequent port for sailboats and cruisers with docking slips available from spring through fall.

There is much to do in Waukegan! During the summer months the lakefront is bustling. You can walk around the beach and harbor or relax and take in a show at the renovated Genesee Theatre. If casual dining is your pleasure, there are plenty of opportunities to eat! You can find cuisine ranging from Mexican at Taco's El Norte at Grand and McAree to the quaint Leno's sub-shop at Grand and Lewis. For bar-b-que lovers there is Hillary's Chicken and Ribs on north Lewis.

If you're looking for more adventure or to entertain the kids, Six Flags Great America is a short drive away in the neighboring city of Gurnee. Like shopping? Gurnee Mills Mall is also within proximity.

Waukegan is a great place to visit. You can even get there by public transportation and even commute between Chicago and Kenosha. It really is a suburban town with a city feel!
