"THE street of the D.C. Mall..."

The fantastic thing about Pennsylvania Avenue is that it keeps you completely accessible to all the major sites in Washington, D.C. I stayed at the JW Marriott on the corner of Penn Ave & 14th. I walked out of the hotel and 2 blocks or so straight ahead was the White House. To my left from that corner was the Washington Monument. The other direction on Penn took me to the Smithsonians, the Capitol and finally, fabulous Union Station. Along the way in either direction, side streets will take you to most any other historical site that you would care to see.
