"Bad Crime Rates"

I live here. I have a good job, I pay my bills, and I mind my own business. Rent is cheap, but this street is awful!

The police are called to my apartment complex on a daily basis. In the last few months alone, my neighbor has been held up at gunpoint, the bank next door was robbed, a woman was held up at gunpoint in my parking lot and robbed of one dollar, three woman were sexually harassed by a man exposing himself and masturbating in their doorway, the McDonalds drive-thru was robbed, I've seen several crack addicts arrested and I witnessed a man ram a car so hard it went through the building window.

"Beautifully Designed Street"

Located near the UNL campus, Antelope Valley Parkway is part of Lincoln's huge Antelope Valley flood reduction and community revitalization project. This street is beautifully engineered and I fully enjoy driving on a modern street without potholes. Take this street to get you to your favorite Stars hockey game and you will be pleasantly rewarded.

"Crowded, slow moving traffic"

I would not want to travel along 27th street for any long period of time. The traffic moves slowly and it seems to take forever to get ANYWHERE. Now, there are a lot of great businesses located on 27th street, such as the north Wal Mart, or SouthPointe Mall on the south end of town. It's easy to find fast food joints, tattoo parlors and the works on this street. However, take a detour to get there if you can.

"Lincoln's Busiest Street"

O Street runs across almost all of Lincoln and is smack dab in the middle of downtown. The local bar scene on O street is mainly college-age kids. The sidewalks are covered with crowds at night as Lincoln's smoking ban sends a lot of smokers outside, and others gather after the bars close to socialize. Traffic is something to avoid during rush hour, but not quite as bad during the rest of the day. Shopping on O street is fun and shops range from a record store to Oso burrito to a used clothing store.

"Clean, Friendly Neighborhood"

Sumner Street has a lot of great residential homes and is located in a friendly neighborhood. Sumner Street is also within close proximity to a lot of Lincoln's main streets, including Cotner, Normal and South Street. 48th & Sumner is also the location of one of Lincoln's best hospitals, Bryan LGH. Various churches are located within the area.

"Buses Buses Buses!"

Lincoln Mall is located in the middle of Lincoln and leads right up to Nebraska's capitol building. For this reason, the buses are constantly coming and going. I've feared that I'll be hit by a bus on this street many times. There are other businesses located here, but none of them are retail or food related. In general, avoid this street unless you are traveling to the capitol building.

"The Complete Package"

Though not a very large city, Lincoln is a friendly city with a fun night-life environment.

If it's family fun you're looking for, check out the Children's museum, Champion's Fun Center, or one of Lincoln's spectacular neighborhood parks.

If you're craving an exciting nightlife, check out Cappy's Hot Spot Bar & Grill on 48th & Hwy 2 for live rock music and the best food in town. The legendary Zoo Bar offers jazz and blues while Knickerbockers showcases local bands on a regular basis. The best karaoke can be found at JR's Down Under on sunday, tuesday, thursday and even saturday!

Lincoln is the home of Stars hockey, Saltdogs baseball and of course the one and only Nebraska Cornhuskers. Local softball and volleyball leagues can be joined almost year-round.
