"Nice College Street"

This street is park of the Frederick Park housing system that's offered as 'off-campus' housing for CSUMB students. It's not the loudest of the courts, but it does have it's parties. Overall though, it's fairly quiet. Each court has a R.A. and they keep things under control.

Some of the nice things about this area is that there are hundreds of miles of hiking trails throughout the Fort Ord wilderness which is just a couple of hundred yards away. Also, because of the wilderness area, you can often see wild bobcats, foxes, coyotes, deer, turkey, quail, hawks, etc., wandering in the area. Access to the freeway is relatively close and so is shopping.

If you're going to CSUMB, this is the place to be.

"Not as bad as the reputation, but not great either."

This street has a reputation for being one of the worst parts of Merced. And while it's not the prettiest street and does have it's trouble, it's not as bad as some might say. Southern Merced is much worse. Shopping is close and plentiful, but Merced in general is not the best place for nightlife.

"A perfect street to raise a family!"

This is the street I grew up on. It is it's own community. Granted, P.V. is known for the preppy, spoiled, and elite crowd, this is a good mixture of upper-upper-middle-class and humble beginnings on this street. Most of the people here are "old money", but that doesn't detract from the area. if anything, it make a very nice place to raise kids. Plus the walk to the park is so short and there are outstanding views from your backyard.
