"Busy Street but woodsy atmosphere"
I lived on North Street for seven years. Had a nice large house which backed on to the woods (Eisenhower Park). A nice perk was seeing the wildlife pass through and sometimes visit my deck. A safe neighborhood with a very nice park located close by. Neighbors were generally cordial. However, due it being a main road, if was hard to get to know them well. I didn't feel a strong sense of community. There is traffic, which can be dangerous, especially if you have young children or pets. Some of the drivers would speed. There a somewhat wide shoulder to walk in and sidewalks on one side of the road. I took daily walks, but was always alert. It was very hard to safely cross this street where my home was located. As expected in any suburban neighborhood, a car is a must. Downtown wasn't too far, but only walkable if you are fit and a regular walker. There was a take out restaurant about a mile from my home located in a small strip mall. If you like to golf, there was a decent course nearby. Nightlife can happen if you go downtown, where there was several bars and restaurants. Eisenhower Park is very nice, with a cool splash pad and awesome playground for children, tennis, basketball courts, pickle ball, dog park and some hiking trails. Occasionally, there has been special events. There is also the river, which I believe is stocked for fishing. Overall a nice neighborhood, but be prepared for fast cars zooming by your house.
