"A Place of Great Disparity"

The financial District is the business hub of San Francisco. it gives plenty of space for pedestrians to travel by foot and riders of bikes to ride comfortably. However, traffic is a nightmare, producing huge headaches for those visitors driving there for the first time and simply continuous annoyance for those having to commute to the city. The streets are fairly clean but you can't look away that even though there is not much trash in the streets, the sidewalks are full of homeless men. The sight is quite unfortunate for both visitors and residents. One can only admire the gap between the very rich and the very poor meeting in the streets of the financial district.

"A Fun, Lively Neighborhood"

This is a dynamic, fun neighborhood with the best of urban living. It is full of excellent restaurants, cafes, and nightspots. It is conveniently located to downtown and the financial district. It also neighbors Chinatown. It is a busy tourist spot, so this would not be the spot for quiet outer neighborhood living. It would be ideal for young professionals that want to enjoy the best of what San Francisco has to offer. Some of the apartments have spectacular views. The only downside to the neighborhood is traffic and parking, especially on weekends. Chinatown is also right next door. This neighborhood offers the best of Cosmopolitan, urban living.

"A Quiet Respite from the City IN the City"

Glen Park feels like you are in the suburbs, far from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, yet you are really only a brief Muni or BART ride away from shops, restaurants, and a hopping nightlife. There aren’t many places to shop or eat out in the neighborhood, but the few places there are fill with people during rush times. Go to Tiger’s Diner for a delicious breakfast, and stop by Canyon Market for a bottle of wine and some organic veggies for dinner. Moms in jogging gear and nannies with their young charges are the most common sights on the streets of Glen Park; it’s rare that you’ll encounter a busker or beggar here. If you want to feel like you live in the suburbs but still remain close to the action, Glen Park is the neighborhood for you!

CanW
CanW Hi, Any thought comparing Glen Park with the area around CCSF? I'm trying to find somewhere around here so that I can easily get to 280.

"Chinatown - A unique area to live with lots of activity going on"

Chinatown is a very noisy and active neighborhood of San Francisco. There are a lot of people living in this neighborhood but it's a friendly place. It seems that many of the neighbor's families have lived in the area for generations. The shopping and restaurants are incredible. Chinatown is very walkable and it's never a dull moment living here. The buildings in Chinatown tend to be very old. Some are quite well cared for, others have only remained because of the high cost to inhabit this part of town. Many immigrants still flock to this neighborhood, but there are all different ethnicities who live here.

"A good place to live with friendly neighbors."

San Francisco has always felt like a very safe city to me. There are no neighborhoods where I truly feel unsafe. We suffer from none of the unbelievable horror stories from other cities where, to venture someplace at night is to tempt death. I have always been able to be pretty much anywhere, and feel safe. Mind you, this is my personal experience. Of course, remember that you can be mugged, raped, killed, run over, or harrassed for any reason anywhere and at any time. And so, within that scale, I rate the SF neighborhoods below. In other words, in San Francisco, an unsafe neighborhood isn't so bad

"A great beginning for young families and adults."

Golden Gate is a great place to live. It is full of great retail and shopping malls. The community is quiet and peacefull with walking trails througout the neighborhood. The school system is great with many ways of transportation and great after school activities. The community is involved with many block parties and activities. The home values stay great because of the demand for the neighborhood. We loved it and miss it very much. A great place to live, just watch for traffic delays at specific times of the day. It is overall a wonderful environment to live in.

"Great Place to Visit"

Very Busy Location, lots of tourism, lots of shops for souvenirs, nice view of the bay, good view of Alcatraz, good food choices, choices for parking are limited, restroom facilities are not close by, fun for sight seeing and tourist attraction. Lovely place to take your family for vacation to visit in San Francisco area if you are there for visiting or sight seeing. Trolleys, cable cars, buses, and taxis are all available modes of transportation. People seem to be very nice and very helpful.Great view of the bay and Alcatraz. Good place for boat tours around the bay and near Alcatraz.

"Central Sunset - Great place to live"

Well I had lived in Central Sunset for a few years so I am quite familiar with the area. Being that it is in San Francisco there are plenty of things to do. The restaurants there have terrific food, and even if some are a little pricey they are worth it. If you are thinking of moving to Central Sunset it shouldn’t be too hard to find someplace to live because there are numerous apartment complexes of good quality. However if plan to live in Central Sunset be prepared to be making a decent amount of money because the cost of living is higher, like much of California, compared to the rest of country.

"Pacific Heights: The Serene Neighborhood"

This is a concession, stylish neighborhood that is freely bordered by Presidio and Van Ness avenues and Vallejo and Pine streets. It symbolizes Hollywood’s visualization of San Francisco as it has numerous ostentatious dwellings in a quiet residential atmosphere. Much of the activity usually happens at Fillmore Street. Much of the activities in this neighborhood revolve around shopping, with a highlight on high-stakes lavish items and pricey women outfits. Moreover, there are plenty of fine confinements stores, bath-and-body shops and gift boutiques. However, for those who do not want to spend a lot of money on these niceties, it is always fun to visit a sidewalk cafe and observe everyone show off. Pacific Heights has attracted a lot of tourists ranging from American to International. The main activities undertaken by these tourists include: visiting parks, strolling along the streets and coffee sipping. Currently, there is a crop up of excellent nightclubs and restaurants, bestowing night revelers a rationale to stay out till late into the night.

"A quiet place for students, but not much for anyone else."

San Francisco State University and the surrounding neighborhood are located at the far southern edge of San Francisco-- so far in fact it doesn't even feel as if you're still in the city. The campus provides most of the services for the students living in the area and outside of that, there isn't much to do or see here. Stonestown Mall, located a few blocks from the school, is the only real beacon of life in the area and provides the usual services that a shopping mall offers. Eating out isn't much of an option, restaurants are far and few between. Nightlife is non-existent, and no bars or nightclubs are present in the area. Transportation to and from the school and the neighborhood is adequate, although long waits on 19th Avenue are not uncommon. All in all, the area is quiet and mostly home to students attending the University. For excitement that the City has to offer, it's best to look elsewhere.
