"Lots of Gems on this Blvd"

There are some great things on this street. The Clubhouse Fun Center is cheesy, but so much fun. I love riding the go carts. My boyfriend and I would also get our bikes fixed at the Park Ave bike shop that's actually on Jay Scutti, not Park Ave. It's mostly businesses, so I don't think you'd want to live there, but it's a great street to go visit. Bring kids and the whole family.

"Main Street of Rochester, what you'd expect"

Well this is the main street of Rochester, so it's what you'd expect. Lots of companies, commercial properties, sometimes there's traffic. Pretty safe street, but rather boring, I would not want to live on it. West Main Street is also home to Nick Tahoes aka home to the famous garbage plate. If you're on W Main Street, stop by that place and get yourself a garbage plate, you'll be eating a Rochester staple.

"The Hipster Area of Rochester"

This is definitely the hipster area of Rochester, with bars like The Old Toad which cater to young people. Alexander Street also crosses Monroe Ave, Park Ave, East Ave, and University Ave, so it's connected to many of the major streets in the city. I don't think it's a great street for older people, or families, but for young people who want to be close to the nightlife, it's a good choice.

"Another Hip Rochester Street"

South Ave is pretty hip and laidback. Lux is on this street, that bar is more like the type of bar you'd find in Portland or Brooklyn, then Rochester. Across from Lux is Godiva's vintage shop, I used to get clothes there all the time. There's a lot of hospitals and doctors services on the street. Relatively safe, though I'm not sure I'd recommend it for families, it's better suited for young people.

"Parks and Bars"

There are some really lovely parts of Mount Hope Ave. The Mount Hope Cemetary and Highland Park are nearby, and those are both beautiful. University of Rochester is also nearby. There are a couple of bars and restaurants on this street because of the college population. The Distillery is pretty much the local college bar. I also love the Mount Hope Diner. A good street, some crime though. If you're going to live here, make sure you can tolerate living near a lot of college students.

"Lots of Crime, Not a Good Street"

There is a lot of crime on this street. This street goes up to Irondequoit and I guess that part of it is not too bad, but for the most part this is a street to avoid. Not a lot of good businesses, restaurants, or stores on this street either. Completely not for families or kids. There have been teens shot on this avenue. Homicides are frequent on Hudson Ave.

"One of the Most Dangerous Streets in Rochester"

This is one of most dangerous streets in Rochester, perhaps the country. I would not recommend it to anyone. There are murders and other crimes that happen all the time. Drug deals take place in broad daylight and you can hear gunshots at night. Definitely not for families and kids.

"The Heart of Culture and Nightlife"

East Avenue is so beautiful, there are so many gorgeous houses along the street, and its side streets. There are also some of Rochester's best cultural institutions including the Eastman House, the Museum and Science Center, and the Little Theatre, an independent movie house. Once you get closer to the city however, the main night clubs and bars (like Barfly) usually draw high crowds and traffic.

"The street to eat in Rochester"

When I want to go out to eat in Rochester, I always go to Park Ave. There are so many great choices and all in close proximity to each other. There's Magnolia, the wonderful Jines, and Hogans Hideaway. It's also a great place to get a cup of coffee at Spin Caffe. There are a few of Rochester's finest boutiques also on Park Ave, like Parkleigh and A Step Apart. I think Park Ave would be the perfect place to hang out if you were a graduate student, but it's friendly enough for almost anyone, including families and older people.

"Don't forget about the shopping on Monroe Ave!"

Monroe Ave is one of the few places in Rochesrer that has some great shopping and small businesses. It's truly an urban feel, you can walk down the street and go to poster stores, an independent grocery store, an asian grocery market, or a clothing boutique. There's also the Bug Jar which has a lot of great musical shows. Some areas are a little unsafe at night, so be careful.

"Parks, Amusement Parks, and the Bay"

Culver Road is one of the main roads in Rochester. Rochester's biggest amusement park is here, and access to Cobbs Hill Park is nearby. Definitely a busy street, with lots of intersecting expressways and other main roads, so the traffic can get pretty crazy sometimes. In the summer the road can go all the way to Irondequoit Bay.
