Being so close to the San Francisco bay the East San Mateo neighborhood is one the cheapest in the area as far as the housing market is concerned. There are plenty of things to do in East San Mateo. One of my favorite excursions is horse racing. I can catch plenty of horse racing events and other people that like my interests down at the Bay Meadows Racetrack. There are plenty of parks to visit for bbq's and other activities. One of the better parks is Marina Island Park which specializes in marina life. There are plenty of docks down by the bay to watch boats or just stroll up on a blanket and read a book. For the most part the houses around this area are in the middle class range with wide spacious streets and all of the neighborhoods are right by the Bayshore Freeway.
