"East Spring Street - University Life and More"

To the West, East Spring Street runs into the university so as you can imagine, there are lots of rental properties along this eight block street. Having a somewhat ecclectic flair more near the university, the neighborhood boasts bungalow-style homes and is a tree-lined street that is safe for walking day or night. At Martin Luther King, it jogs to the north (for east-bound travel) and the neighborhood is less ecclectic yet still retains the features of housing style and solitude. Parking is challenging unless you're a resident and a resident permit is required.

"South Frink Place - A Park Runs Through It"

Flanked by Frink Park, South Frink Place is a short but quiet and beautiful little street. It runs near Lake Washington Boulevard and is nearly at the waters edge. A great short drive if you're looking for a place to relax for the afternoon (Frink Park) and enjoy all that Seattle has to offer, off the beaten path somewhat. A curving road with some blind curves so be sure to mind the speed limit to avoid any potential conflicts, etc. And with a name like Frink, it has be good!

"Lake Washington Boulevard - The Most Scenic Route in Seattle"

It's true! This boulevard, much as the name implies, travels along the perimeter of Lake Washington. there are ample places to stop and take in the sights along with dining and shopping destinations as well. Much like the rest of Washington State, this road is beautifully maintained and the landscaping is also well-maintained with beautiful, mature trees. Naturally it does get fairly busy so be prepared to drive slowly and take in the sights. If you're in a rush, please take the highway but if you want a gorgeous drive around a beautiful lake, drive on down Lake Washington Boulevard!

"South Andover Street - An Industrial Paradise"

There are numerous commercial buildings on South Andover Street. For being a relatively short street, it is home to nearly ten industrial parks housing businesses of all kinds in commercial warehouse spaces. The parking is of course private but this is one place where you can actually park your car without driving in circles for 30 minutes. If you're looking for a place to work, one of these businesses might just be the place for you!

"Pike Street - Tourist and Local Haven"

You're looking for the famous Pike Street Market? As logic would dictate, travel down Pike Street until you can go no farther and there it is! Parking is always a challenge here but once you're parked, you can rub elbows with tourists and locals alike. There is incredible dining, bars, and little off-the-beaten-path kinds of places here even though it's a very well-worn path. There are great bargains to be had at the market from fresh fish, fruits and veggies to hats, scarves, clothing, jewelry and more! At the very end of Pike Street below the neon glow of the sign on the street below stands a large brass pig. I always thought it was amusing considering he's outside the most famous fish market in the world! Other than the Market, Pike Street is home to many local businesses and apartment complexes alike, which is part of the contribution to the deficit of available parking.

"Broadway East - A Vital Part of Capitol Hill"

Broadway East is what made us fall absolutely in love with Seattle over 15 years ago! There are all sorts of ecclectic stores, shops, restaurants, bars, and PEOPLE! If you love to people watch, this is for sure the street for you! You see everything here from people in business suits to people with 3 foot high green mohawks! It's an incredibly open-minded and safe neighborhood and community as a whole. Many hours we spent in Urban Outfitters and frequenting the little ice-cream shack across the street! For a wonderful afternoon in an open-minded area, you can't miss if you decide to visit Broadway East in Capitol Hill!

"Boren Avenue South - If You Blink You Might Miss It"

This little section of road runs for about 4 or 5 blocks - Boren Avenue turns into Boren Avenue South before becoming Rainier Avenue South - that's pretty confusing when you're looking for something and planning your route however this little section is cute. The bungalow style homes that dot the tree-lined street are a slice of Americana that seems to be from a time long since forgotten. Unlike forgotten things however these homes are immaculately maintained and well-cared for. If you're looking for a quiet neighborhood, you've found it.

"Elliott Avenue West - Your Route to Myrtle Edwards Park and more"

Elliott Avenue West at first seems a little rough around the edges. It's got some rather industrial parts to it and parking is always an issue (when isn't it?). However Elliott offers us Kinnear Park, Elliott Bay Park and of course, Myrtle Edwards Park. It is adjacent to Olympic Sculpture Park where you can see amazing larger-than-life outdoor sculpture. Parking near the parks is challenging so go during less-popular times of day would be my advice. Past the parks, Elliott turns into commercial real estate with the occasional historic factory building. A great place for photography enthusiasts!

Queen Anne Avenue North is a fantastic but busy place with the famed Queen Anne Market. Numerous shops and restaurants line this busy thoroughfare. "First Avenue, a mecca of culture, history and intrigue"

Tell me what other tree-lined street winds along a well-established waterfront and has even half the things to do that First Avenue offers? Whether you're looking for a wonderful stroll on a lazy afternoon or a hopping night life, First Avenue offers all this and more. There are outdoor sculptures and let's not forget historic Doc Maynards, the departure point for the famed Seattle Underground tour. If you haven't taken the tour, especially if you're a local, you owe it to yourself to go and see the oldest "Crapper" in the country! Where? First Avenue of course!
