"Close to muni, the beach, and Sloat"

This street is a great residential part of town. The L-Taraval line is right there. Sloat Blvd makes it easy to get east/west and Sunset Ave makes it easy to get north/south. Of course, being 2 blocks from the beach is really cool if you like that sort of thing. As it is a very residential part of town, there isn't any night life at all. However, there are actually more places to eat than you would expect. The Bashful Bull too is right there if you're looking for diner food. Also, Brother's pizza and North Beach Pizza on Taraval are just a few blocks away. Finally Wyn's chinese food is close by as is Thanh Long for when it's crab season.
