"Small town with a village feeling."

Almost every street has its own beach access. The older neighborhoods are quaint and interesting. Two mile drive to the Melbourne Causeway (from Ocean Ave, the "downtown" of Melbourne Beach). A1A turns into a two lane road through Melbourne Beach. Pedestrian/cycle friendly area!
Pros
  • Walk to beach, river.
  • Everyone's your neighbor!
  • Secluded and sleepy as compared to commercial feeling of the northern beaches.
Cons
  • During spring break/snowbird season A1A can be congested at the Oak Street/Ocean Avenue intersection.

"A friendly, upbeat small town close to beaches."

Great airport with easy access located right in the heart of Melbourne. Cute and popular historic downtown with shopping, eating & drinking, and festivals. The Florida climate helps keep families active and the beach is a perk no one takes for granted.
Pros
  • Small town with many bigger town amenities.
  • Beaches nearby.
  • Airport access.
Cons
  • A couple of congested areas (mainly the Wickham Rd area; also 192 can be slow moving)
