Is University Village in Chicago a good place to live for families with kids?

I don't want to say University Village is bad for families with kids, but at the same time I would rather recommend it for singles and students. It's a pretty young area, and while you'd have some decent places to eat and a lot of potential babysitters, I don't really recommend it for families.
