Yikes is the only word I can come up with to describe Turtle Bay. I, to date, know one person that lives in the neighborhood and nobody else even goes there. It's not a bad neighborhood: it's just kind of ugly and boring. There are some great apartments and a lot of them have a view of the East River which is nice. So, if you find a great deal, it's not a bad decision to jump on it. But, I wouldn't go searching out a place in Turtle Bay. There are bars and restaurants but none of them are great. And, the whole neighborhood just seems so corporate to me. There's no neighborhood feel and almost no green. It's not bad, crime-wise, and the demographic isn't awful. It's just blah. There's nothing to do and no feeling to it.
