The Highway of Legends is 82 miles long and takes about two hours to drive. It's called the Highway of Legends because of the 'tall tales' that have come from the American Indians, Spanish explorers, and the many settlers in this area. One example is that of the prospector who found gold nuggets large enough that one could support him for a whole year. Mostly there are just churches and scenic views though. You can see some of the old Coke ovens which made Coke, a byproduct of coal that was used in the 1800s in Colorado.
