Is Trinidad really remote from the rest of the Front Range, it looks more like NM than CO?

Yes, from the front range Trinidad is pretty far, about a three hour drive. Trinidad is only about 10 miles from the border of New Mexico. If you have some time and get the chance, this is a very nice area of Colorado. The city is fun to explore and has a very unique vibe to it. We drive to New Mexico pretty often and always make it a point to stop in Trinidad.
