The Trinidad History Museum is located just off of East Main and Chestnut Street. It's made up of several buildings and is in an historic district. We stopped there once but we were too late. If I remember correctly they have limited hours of operation. One of the buildings is very cool to look at...very unique.

There is also a small archaeology museum at Trinidad State Jr. College, a children's museum at Old Firehouse No. 1 just off of Commercial Street, and the A.R. Mitchell museum which has a lot of paintings (mainly western) is just off of Main.
