I can respond on behalf of the Manhattan Beach community and available tennis. There are three spots to play in Manhattan Beach, in addition to Manhattan Country Club which, of course, is not public. The three court locations are Live Oak Park, Manhattan Heights Courts and the courts at Mira Costa High School. Personally, I like the Manhattan Heights courts best as they are first come, first serve and they are free. This works best with my schedule as I never know what is going to pop up, so tend to go at my leisure. The other two, Live Oak and Mira Costa, while nice facilities, both require reservations AND charge a fee.
