Is Telluride mainly a tourist town, or is it a welcoming place to settle down as well?

Let's just say they'll welcome your money! Telluride is very expensive and a small one bedroom, one bath condo can easily start at $350,000. It is definitely a tourist spot for the wealthy as many of the homes are well into the millions. Even the time shares here can be in the thousands a month.

Having said that, I've lived in several mountain towns and once the locals know you're not a tourist and you're 'one of them' they treat you different. Most true Coloradans are very outgoing and welcoming from what I've experienced.
