Is it safe to be out and walk/bike at night around South Shore Drive (midnight/1am at the latest)?

Also, how safe is commuting to work or heading downtown on public transportation here?

It’s safe. But buses operated on a limited schedule after midnight & there are also special night bus routes.Please check the CTA bus schedule.
