Many in realty say that the time to buy is now because of the low interest rates. However, if you plan on being in the city for the next 10 years, you may want to get acquainted with the neighborhoods. You may find that it's cheaper to rent in some areas, but better to buy in others.

No one knows how long the rates will be down. So, if you have to make a choice soon, now would be the time. If you're not in a rush, however, experiment with renting to get to know the place you will be calling home for the next 10 years.
