Is there any kind of agriculture in San Luis?

I heard that the San Luis Valley actually grew a lot of barley and hops for beer - is this true?

Not sure about the barley and hops but I wouldnt doubt it, there are many creeks that flow from the mnts to the east and there is major scale pivot irrigation circles/fields and hayfields along the water. Ranch and ag are important for San Luis and the surrounding valley
