Thanks, GGghChicago, for being very positive with your top ten list. I'm 61 years young, attended Van Vlissingen and Christian Fenger High School. The responder's list before you was very negative and bigoted. Roseland has it's challenges, like many South and West side neighborhoods, but their are plenty of good people that live there. I would also add The Salem Baptist Church of Chicago in the Pullman area. We welcome all to worship and their are many positive events that are too numerous to name that occur in church as well as the Roseland Community.

1. Palmer Park - tennis, baseball, swimming, playground, fitness center, community center
2. Fernwood Park - baseball, tennis, gym, swimming, natatorium
3. Smith Park - slides, jungle gym - great park for young children
4. Pullman Branch Library - originally part of Pullman School for Training - great library
5. I Welcome Myself to a New Place Mural - by Olivia Gude, Marcus Akinlana & Jon Pounds (E 113th St & S. Cottage Grove)
6. Old Fashioned Donuts - these donuts are a must have for breakfast or anytime
7. Jim's - you have to try the Polish Sausage or bone-in pork chop sandwich
