I would also check out Atlantic Kayak Tours in Cortlandt Manor - it's my go-to spot for rentals. They also lead kayak tours and have a great kayak launch right at Annsville Circle before the Bear Mountain Bridge.

Hudson Valley Outfitters in Cold Spring has rentals, classes and guided tours. Every time my husband and I walk past the store, we say "someday!" We've been meaning to go kayaking since we moved up here! Maybe this summer we'll finally do it. Their web site has lots of information.

Oh most definitely. A great, great resource is Hudson River Recreation. It is THE kayak place in Westchester. They are really cool folks. They provide all the equipment and the instruction. They do this for singles, couples, groups, birthday parties, you name it. They offer guided kayak tours, kayak lessons, recreational and touring kayak rentals, stand up paddle boarding tours, stand up paddle boarding lessons and stand up paddle boarding rentals. They also have really nifty special events including fireworks paddles, moonlight paddles, kayoga, which is kayaking with yoga (yep!), stand up paddleboarding & yoga and women's programs. They have programs in Sleepy Hollow, Croton and Tarrytown as well as a few others, I believe. If you have any questions whatsoever, just give 'em a call and they will be glad to help you.
