Pullman, Chicago - good neighborhood for families with kids?

I think Pullman is pretty good for families with kids. It's pretty nice, and affordable, with decent schools, so families should be okay living here. It isn't the most happening place, but quiet is generally preferred for families, so I'll give it a recommendation. Note that there are bad areas near Pullman, so there could be some bad influences not too far from home.
