Is there much local support for school programs like football teams or debate teams in Fairview?

Well, there are only a limited number of schools in Fairview (if you don't count the two colleges here) and one of them stops at 5th grade, so no football or other extracurricular activities along those lines.

As for the universities, Marist College does have a football team as well as several other Division I sports, and they do draw decent local crowds. I'm not aware of anything resembling an athletics program at Dutchess Community College. As for a debate team, Marist and DCC have one as far as I know, but I don't know that they're big draws for the local community.
