Oakland is a decent neighborhood. For what you get it's certainly a decent value, and while you're not super close to the Loop, you're not terribly far away either. This is a good area if you're looking to get a nice place for a good price. I expect home prices will go up in a few years, so right now is the time to invest.

Oakland, Chicago is a tiny lakefront neighborhood full of beautiful graystone homes. This neighborhood is on the rise and is a great option for people looking to live on the water for an affordable price. Oakland's Mandrake Park is nearby and a great place for outdoor recreation in the summer.
