It's a nice area if you love multiracial neighbors. Stores, movie theaters and grocery stores are close by: you can use your bike, walk or drive. Use http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ca/irvine/crime/ to see what are the crime data.

I am not seeing much by way of crime in North Irvine. I am not sure if they just don't report it. Irvine overall, however, has a very low crime rate with 2-3 murders a year in a city of 200,000. That is pretty good. Having driven through there it didn't seem like a problem from the look of the place. I wouldn't worry about it.
