Seventh and Eight Grades No Longer to Get Free Bus Service

I read on NY1 today that the Department of Education will cut free school bus service to seventh- and eighth-grade students next year.

According to the DOE, a total of 70 schools and about 4,600 students will be affected. The students affected will be eligible for free student MetroCards at least till the MTA decides to eliminate them.

You can read the entire story here:

If things keep up, I wonder if this city will collapse financially, just like they did in the '70s. If you do not recall, when NYC declared bankruptcy in the '70s, it took them nearly 10 years to rebound.

I don't know about the rest of you, I think this city is going down the tubes, or at least it seems that way. I hope something is done pretty soon or many more people will move out. This city is not the same as it was in the '70s, '80s, and early '90s.
