Preserving Public Housing
In case you may be wondering, there are many buildings in the city of NY that are owned by HUD. Also known as NYC Housing Authority or NYCHA. These buildings are not only owned by the city but are also cared for and maintained by the city as well.
Within the last 10 years over $4 billion dollars have been spent keeping many of these buildings in good shape. Some repairs included repairing and replacing building systems, exteriors, interiors, landscaping, and establishing community centers.
And now that the city has received funds from bonds that were sold, they can make even more repairs.
If you happen to live in a building that is owned by the city, and your building is in need of repairs, just contact the city and they will record it, and have contractors stop by to see what needs to be done.
