New Tool Helps Monitor Water Usage

If you own a property or rent one where the water bill is included, you may like reading this post. For today, according to NY1, there is a new tool that will allow you to monitor the amount of water you use.

Wonder how this will work for me ?We reside in a Co-op and are presented a maintenance bill every month ..have yet to see a water bill though I know we receive aseparate Con-Ed bill.

Your water and sewer bill should be separate. It is not part of ConEd. You might pay it through your maintenance fee. If you own that co-op, you should be receiving a water and sewer bill. I believe the bill is issued one a quarter, but you can check with NYC water works to find out.

@hhusted I think we pay it through the maintenance fee as the bills we get are from the management company of the co-op in addition to Con-Ed and Time Warner so I have no way of knowing how much water we consume.

@Uptowngirl: I would suggest you find out. One day you might be surprised by a huge water bill and wonder why.

@hhusted thanks will have to contact our managing agents for that information lets see how forthcoming they are.

@Uptowngirl: Well, if they are a legit management company, they will tell you. In fact, it really is the law for them to disclose such things to tenants and co-op owners.
