Jamaica Bay Pollution Reduction Plan

According to NY1, the city has completed a new step toward reducing pollution in Jamaica bay. Based on the article, 90 homes in Meadowmere and Warnerville will now be able to hook up to city sewage lines. This will lower pollution in the bay and in the area. This came about when the city completed a $37 million sewage and wastewater project.

Before this project was completed, all waste in the above areas went right into the Jamaica Bay.

Now that both areas above have been connected to the sewer system, the next step is to clean out Jamaica Bay. Not sure when this step will occur, but supposedly will take place within a year.
