Run NYC

I got myself peer-pressured into agreeing that I'd run a marathon later this year. So today I dutifully went to the gym, to make at least an attempt at training. Let's see how that's going to continue in the future. In the meantime, here's a link to the biggest running club in NYC, to help keep me motivated.

A small one upstate. Don't even know the name of it, but my marathon-runnin' intense sports friends definitely do. Man, how did I agree to this one?

@Uraniumfish great going.. seems to be the trend in NYC nowadays three folks who live in my apartment building and are regulars at the gym always seem to be training for some marathon or the other. One of the three is a 67 year old gentleman who is clinically blind but supremely fit as he participates in triathlons regularly ..I wish I am half as enthusiastic as him when I can get to his age. I have to literally push myself to go to the gym otherwise I will be Ms. Porkers soon with all the food that I keep stuffing my face with and this horrible weather doesn't help...makes me perennially hungry..

I've only met these kinds of intensely driven people here in NY, seems like they all congregate here...

Training for a marathon is hard work. I read about a runner and what he went through to prepare for a marathon. A lot of endurance training mainly.

@Uraniumfish NYC seems to attract the brightest and the best talents from all over the world. It has such a competitive atmosphere that you are pushed to do your best if you are to survive .

That is why someone told me one time that if you can make it here you can make it anywhere. A friend told me that is because NYC is a pressure cooker and puts a lot of demands on you. This city defintely touchens you.

No kidding. After this, I have to go train again. What did I get myself into?
