Mayor Bloomberg who has tried to reform NYC's public school system sprung a new surprise recently by appointing Magazine executive - Cathie Black a successful magazine executive with Hearst Magazines as chancellor of the New York city public school system which is the largest in the country. http://www.amny.com/urbanite-1.812039/hearst-exec-replaces-joel-klein-as-schools-chancellor-1.2445102
Ms. Black is obviously a star in her field, but she doesn't have a background in Education. Will she be able to do much? perhaps she will bring a new approach to tackling the problem of overhauling the school system? what are your thoughts?
