Should any parts of Madison Square in New York City be avoided more than others?

Madison Square is essentially just Madison Square Park which is in a great part of town and it's perfectly safe. As with most parks in New York, however, I wouldn't hang out there at 3 am. Otherwise, all of it's fine.
