Be cautious driving on Archer Avenue. Archer and Harlem intersection is busy, and many panhandlers, so be on the lookout. On the east end, around Archer and Central, which is closer to the airport, be cautious while driving.
If you decide to own a home here, get an SUV so you can get out of your alley in the winter. Parking can be limited. And watch out for the parking hogs. There is residential parking, but after 4 p.m. the game playing starts.
There are enough places to grab a cup of coffee or bakery item. A couple of small restaurants. Shopping for groceries is ample. Gas higher because it is the city, although not as high as on the North Side.
Transportation to airport or downtown is very good. Just stay aware, as in any neighborhood.
Walking the neighborhood is a plus. Lots of different style homes and trees to take in. The parks are a good option during daytime hours.
There are churches here and they are thriving pretty much.
