For a 30-something single professional is living downtown or on West 7th more desirable?

I would choose the West 7th area over downtown. West 7th has a bit of everything, food, bars, shopping, and much more. It all comes down to personal preference, I prefer to stay out of the "downtown" area and spend my weekends on West 7th. Hope this helps - - - Almost thirty something married professional---
