When you can get to Estes again, I recommend Village Pizza, they are in the shopping center right across from the visitor center on Highway 34. They have a very good thin crust pizza and they load their pizza's with lots of toppings. They also have a good selection of sandwiches and beers, all reasonably priced. They are hidden in the corner of the strip mall, but worth finding.
Went to the Rockin Inn restaurant and live music venue near Rocky Mnt National Parks south entrance two weeks ago, the food was great, it is healthy and locally sourced ingredients when possible. I had elk meatballs!
The Casa Grande Mexican Restaurant has been a stop of ours for many years. They are right in the thick of it downtown so you can people watch while you're there as well. The food is good and the margaritas are great. There's a fun, upbeat atmosphere. We've also gone to the Grumpy Gringo several times, which is farther out of town and not within walking distance of anything. It doesn't get as good of reviews, but we've never had a bad experience. Although if you're trying to choose between Mexican places, Casa Grande is better food wise. We tend to eat a lot of Mexican when we go out, so I can't comment on too many other restaurants there.
