Is the Edgewater neighborhood in Chicago safe?

I think Edgewater is decent enough. I've lived a bit North in Rogers Park and Evanston, and I've gone south there and never considered it really bad.

It's a pretty safe area. Like all other parts of the city, some parts of Edgewater have a higher crime rate than others. Overall, I've always felt safe in Edgewater.
