Colorado Springs is the second largest city in Colorado with just over 425,000 people. Of those people approximately 70% are white, 16% are hispanic, 6% are black, 5% claim two or more races, 3% are Asian, and 1% are American Indian or Native Alaskan. The neighborhoods I have experience with are quiet and peaceful with neighbors really getting to know one another. It's a family centered city which leans right and although many consider it to be highly conservative, election results show otherwise. In the 2008 election 59% voted republican, 40% democrat, and 1% voted for candidates in other parties.
