Is Clinton Hill a good neighborhood to live in?

I'm moving to NYC from Detroit.I'm a young professional who will be commuting to Harlem for work. I am considering renting in Clinton Hill neighborhood off Downing Street. I'm curious to know more about the area? Are there a lot of young people, families? What's the draw to the area? Are there things to do locally? Is there a city center; restaurants, bars, markets, etc. Is it a safe neighborhood? Any advice would be great! Thank you!

Clinton hill is like a little bit of heaven on earth. The streets are lined with some of the city's most beautiful houses and it's all very green. Pratt University is there, making it feel somewhat academic and leafy but not at all fratty. There are people of all ages, families, hipsters, rich folks, po' folks, all kinda folks. There is plenty to do nearby in the way of great restaurants, bars, markets, parks and proximity to other neighborhoods with even more going on. Try to live near the C train if possible, as that's the only CH train that goes to Manhattan (the G is getting way more popular as it goes to all the "cool" brooklyn places and service is improving) It is a changing neighborhood (ie. more rich folks), but if you can afford to live there, you'll be like "wow, I totally hit it out of the park with this neighborhood!" Don't take my word for it, just ask anyone else who lives there ; )
