What kind of permission do you need to add an extension onto your house?

You’d need to apply to the Zoning Board for a permit, or a variance if your addition would not conform to local regulations. If you’re dealing with a historic building, you may need to go in front of the Architectural Review Advisory Committee. Call the Briarcliff Manor Village Hall, 914-941-4800, and they’ll steer you in the right direction.
