Does the neighborhood of Boise and Mississippi Ave. have a lot of crime?

I'm looking to purchase a home one block from Mississippi Ave. in Portland and I'm wondering if it's a safe area for a single woman to live? Is the homeless population becoming a problem as it is in the downtown area and are there many break ins? I went through a home invasion a few years back and so am extra nervous about these issues.
