H&H bagels files for bankruptcy

I've never actually had H&H. Are they better than Murray's (which I love).

@JenMac I really can't the difference but then I am not a bagel connoisseur :). Especially since I only seem to eat one occasionally and when I need to get one I usually go to H&H Midtown Bagels on the UES. Apparently they have nothing to do with the famed H&H on the UWS.

How. Is. This. Possible?

No waaay this can be explained by the economy. It's bagels, they cost like $1.50 and nobody can get enough of them in NY.

@Uraniumfish Perhaps H&H fell out of favor or it was the dreaded rent increase?that section of the UWS has been badly particularly badly hit..

@uptowngirl Must be something like a huge rent hike, otherwise it's unfathomable

I still miss the Bagelry. Grew up with one across the street from my house - it was phenomenal!

There's something about those really fluffy bagels.

Cinnamon raisin bagel with jam....a ham and cheese bagel sandwich...lox and bagels....CREAM CHEESE. The taste of my childhood field trip packed lunches, right there!
