The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster, plus Don Delillo's behemoth--it propped back my door for years and still can't remember the name now. This is a fun game to play.

Didn't Underworld turn into a movie a few years ago? I'm trying to remember if Dark Tower was, but I believe it was never done as a movie.

Fab list BroadwayBk you beat me to it ...here are some of my additions - mostly from the chick lit genre- The Ivy Chronicles by Karen Quinn Momzillas by Jill Kargman, Bed Rest by Sarah Bilston All three classify as light reading but give you an insight into life in the city

@uptowngirl Your NYC movie list actually inspired me. As far as chick lit goes, what about Shopaholic Takes Manhattan and Shophaholic Ties the Knot? The first of the series takes place in London, though the movie based on the book changes the setting to New York.

And speaking of chick lit, I can't believe we forgot The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger and The Nanny Diaries by Nicola Kraus!

Wowa, you girls just went all chick lit on here all of a sudden. And I was so proud that I remembered the likes of Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Lethem.
