"An idyllic street in a quiet Upper West Side neighborhood."

Always wanted to live close to Broadway, but not suffer from the noise of the late night traffic? Then why not move on up to West 86th and Amsterdam for a change. Lined mostly with townhouses, most converted into apartments, this street is great for young couples and growing families. The street itself is well maintained, and in close proximity to the 1 subway line and walking distance from the 2,3, A, C,E. West 86th street runs from Riverside Park to Central Park and thus does not lack access to a little bit of open air. The neighborhood is host to many family-oriented restaurants and delis and has easy access to quite a few good supermarkets.

For the religion conscious families, this street has two churches and a synagogue and a plethora of Jewish delis that cater to all of the major holidays.

At its intersection with Broadway, W. 86th street is home to some good shopping, including such stores as Gap and Banana Republic.

This is a great street to consider settling down in, but not so much if you’re looking for the exciting New York Lifestyle. This street is quiet, relatively safe, and family friendly!

"Beautiful, Park Access, Wonderful Street"

86th and Central Park West is the threshold of the beginning of the Upper West Side, so there are a lot of “yuppie” delights on this beautiful block. Prime real estate, fine dining, and entertainment are a hallmark of the street, making it a prime location for native New Yorkers and those new to town to entertain themselves or live. The B and C trains stop conveniently at the corner, and the bus system is available. Be aware that if you take the bus, you’ll have to wait for the commuters from the train! Access to Central Park is amazing.

"A busy thoroughfare with a family feel."

West 86th Street may just get the best of both worlds in New York City. Running from the beautiful Riverside Park to the equally beautiful and more well known Central Park, W 86th Street benefits from a green, natural feel while being connected to the rest of the city by subway stations and bus stops located on its corners, as well as a busy West-to-East side thoroughfare.

These dual realities are reflected in day-to-day life on W 86th Street. One can easily walk to a quiet stoop at the intersections with Riverside or West End Avenue or instead choose to shop at Banana Republic, have a cup of coffee at Starbucks or visit a whole host of specialist doctors near the intersection with CPW. Likewise, one may hear buses stalling in between West End Avenue and Broadway in the night, but a quick glance out the window would reveal a clean, quiet, safe, and doorman guarded street.

W 86th Street has its attractions if you are religious. Two churches and a synagogue make the street their home.

All in all, if you're looking for excitement, look elsewhere, but if you want to settle down, W 86th Street might be the place for you.
