"Last Stop on the 101"
Doyle Drive could not feel less like the rest of the 101. It parallels the San Francisco Bay, adjacent to the Golden Gate Bridge, and runs through the parklands before hitting the bridge itself. This is certainly a driving street more than a residential or nightlife-laden spot, but it does have the benefit of running through the Presidio and one of the more scenic, nature-filled parts of San Francisco. Doyle is also adjacent to Crissy Field, one of the best recreation areas for families, couples, and anyone looking to throw a baseball or a frisbee.
But perhaps the best feature of Doyle Drive is the VERY clearly marked sign that indicates the last exit before the bridge, a true savior to anyone driving through who wants to avoid paying the $7 toll as a result of going in the wrong direction. Given that this part of 101, right next to the bridge, can be somewhat confusing, this feature does not go unnoticed.
