No neighborhood in San Francisco is really similar to the Presidio. The Presidio was a military base until the end of the Cold War. Now it is largely a green space but also is home to several corporate headquarters. The architecture is the Spanish Colonial style which reflects its status as one of the oldest spots in the city. (When the Spanish first came here they started the Mission Dolores --the same church we have in the Mission now-- and the fort--the Presidio.)
The closest you get to an area like the Presidio is Golden Gate Park, I guess, but it is only similar in being a large green space.
