"Quiet, and nice for young people"
This is a great place to be if you are young. That is because it is nearby one of the best colleges in the state. There is never enough time to meet all of the wonderful, interesting people that are usually involved in some way with the school. The best thing about it is that it is not like most colleges, known mostly for their parties, this school has serious students and the only time it may get a bit rowdy is on weekends, but this street is great for even families, and is safe enough to have kids as well. Retirees may not get much out of it, but it is a nice street.

"Beautiful street to visit with lots to do"
Sul Ross is a beautiful street in the heart of Houston's Montrose neighborhood. It is walking distance to the University of St. Thomas which has a beautiful campus designed by Phillip Johnson. It is also home to the Menil Collection - a world class private art museum. The museum was designed by architect Renzo Piano as was the Cy Twombly Gallery which is one block away. Also on Sul Ross is the Rothko Chapel.
There are many quaint local eateries in the surrounding area. One of my favorites is Cafe Artiste which is just blocks away.
